About Chic

Chic was established in 1994 as the UK's premier trade fair for fashion accessories: Handbags, Shoes, Jewellery, Scarves, Jewellery boxes, Hats, Belts, Gloves, Umbrellas, Wallets, Purses, Luggage, holdalls, lifestyle bags, man bags, briefcases... In 2012 we extended the appeal of Chic by including Mens and Ladies clothing, footwear and related accessories to offer the full fashion story as the majority of our visitors buy clothing and footwear either as their main business activity or as a significant part of their season's budget.

The timing of Chic is what makes it unique, January and July are just at the start of the retail selling season so our regular visitors know that they do not need a crystal ball to imagine what they may need in six months time. They can order from high quality, fashion brands who carry extensive stocks and can supply immediate orders of precisely the areas of inventory that need replenishing, and then regular top ups during the season.
This has been our proposition for over 17 years through two recessions, and now - more than ever - who could dispute the sense in ordering little and often, keeping stock fresh and controlled and - above all else - fashion can change dramatically in six months! New trends can emerge, those much touted lime greens and ostrich prints may not be the fashion revolution that the guru's predicted... You will know what your customers are demanding and your budget will not be tied up in 'mark down' stock when you plan your season to buy at Chic.

The difference at Chic is a relaxed informal atmosphere created by family members with over eighty years of retail and leathergoods industry experience between them. All of us have bought or sold at trade fairs throughout the UK and Europe for our entire careers and we are proud that our experience makes our shows a friendly and intimate experience for visitors and exhibitors.

We offer exhibitors a very reasonable rental so they can afford to show their products in a stand which is large enough to accomodate their collections properly.
Wide open aisles make buyers feel less pressurised as they walk around the show.
Free parking is outside the door so you do not get blown, wet or frozen as you enter the show!
We personally select the menus, and eat every day in the restaurant to ensure that the quality and value is what we would hope to find at a premium trade fair ourselves.
We inspect the toilets and make sure they are always clean, and there are little touches that make the ladies facilities inviting.

We feel that all the little details make a refreshing difference... and we are often complimented on them by visitors and exhibitors.

Each of our shows will present you with over a hundred brands to choose from. Everything you need is gathered together in one focused venue so you can easily get to see everyone in a day and you will not leave wondering what you missed!

Also if you would like to get to know everyone a little better why not join us at our complimentary drinks reception in the Sky Creations Lounge at 6.00pm on Sunday evening at every show, it's a very popular tradition to have a couple of glasses of wine (or a non alcoholic beverage) and a chat with your friends in the industry before heading off to your hotel, dinner or wherever after a pleasant day of buying!
